ALL DISTRICT SCHEDULE

8:00 a.m. – Registration in Commons outside of Recital Hall

8:30 a.m. -9:45am – Rehearsals begin (9-10 chapel, 11-12 in recital hall)

9:30am – State Auditions begin

10am-11:30- rehearsals continue (9/10 recital hall, 11/12 chapel)

11:30-1:00 – Lunch off campus

1:00pm-2:30pm – Rehearsals resume (9-10 in Chapel *stage practice for concert, 11-12 in Recital Hall)

1:15 p.m. – Directors Meeting (choir room)

2:45pm -4:15 pm final rehearsal (9/10 recital hall, 11/12 chapel *stage practice for concert)

4:15 – Break (Kids change clothes, doors open for Concert)

4:45 – Students Line-up

5:00 – Concert

MANDATORY REHEARSALS

In an effort to have the highest quality honor choir, all students participating in the All District Choir are required to attend one of the following mandatory rehearsals. Failure to do so, will result in removal from the choir. All students must be accompanied by a staff member from their school.

9/10 students sing “I’ll Say It Anyway” followed by a scale (Soprano G, Alto Db, Tenor F, Bass B) up and down on solfege, numbers or a neutral syllable. Afterwards, they also sight read a 4 measure selection. Ti-la, 2 skips with do-mi-sol and two sets of 8th notes. The sight reading will start and end on do.
11/12 students sing a solo from the 24 Italian Songs and Arias or the First Book of _____(insert voice part here). All of the solos are linked in the folder below. Afterwards, they go to a separate room for a Music Literacy assessment (sight reading).

NEW THIS YEAR!! IMPORTANT PLEASE READ!

Please make all payments to SCMMEA. Both 9/10 and 11/12 entries. If you go to the treasurer tab, there is a payment window there and then you can select 9/10 AUDITION FEES and 11/12 AUDITION FEES but they must be two separate transactions. Thank you!

All State Choir Info

If your students are in the top 25 in their voice part, they have the opportunity to audition for the Missouri All State Choir during the All District day. They will need to sing their voice part on “Exultate Justi” which will be linked here as soon as it is available.
